Fishing Bivvy

It was a real challenge to find my favorite fishing bivvy. It makes you think; for example, I caught a 48 pound mirror at Rainbow Lake in France which literally had the bodily proportions of a fish of only double figures that you might find in a doubles water in the UK; this fish was simply growing fast at an incredible rate. To keep the carp on the surface is easy. I have one Fishing bivvy that I don’t Carp fishing.

I decided it was time for a change and tried something so simple it just could not work, or could it, yes you are right it worked and it worked so well I could cast my bait out to the exact spot I wanted and it never moved, perfect! Should be fun. So, now that you know that chumming works, let’s talk about a few tips that will help you chum more effectively. But the fact is the smaller baits are more easily consumed for less energy cost compared to many larger ones and the fact that far less anglers presently use tiny boilies on their hook rig is a bit beside the point here.

It’s true that they are a delicacy in Asia, but here in the states carp are considered a trash fish. I usually find that they will take tutti-frutti when most of the flavours havent provoked a bite.

Afterwards put the wet piece inside a sealed plastic bag for one hour. Doesn’t matter what time of year it it, obviously the summer months are better, but when it’s a hot day i.e Shirt off weather. Its a long shot but on many ocasions it has paid off for me. Perhaps it isn’t. (Admittedly the latter suggestion makes catch and release somewhat difficult!!) Why would one go through this effort. When you are stalking it is vital that you are very, very quiet as not to spook the fish, always check that your shadow does not cast onto the water and that your approach is very silent.

If you look at the success of captures on small pieces of baits fished over crumbs of baits or fine particulate ground baits saturated with nutritional liquid food additives with added blood worms, maggots, sweetcorn and hemp seeds etc, you can see distinct advantages because it taps into more of the fishes ranges of natural modes of feeding. I get almost no breakoffs with the power pro, just the ocasional snag that takes the rig. If you normally use 10lb mono, try a 20lb power pro braided. Ideally, you must cast and position your bait away from the location of the feeding carp. I have tried many methods of surface fishing and can tell you they all work and one of the most interesting facts is that the Carp you catch are usually bigger that what you will take from a bottom bait, I don’t know why this is but previous experience has always shown me when I take a Carp from the surface its a nice one and bigger then the average bear !. Many anglers say smaller baits are better for catching carp even though this species and many others become conditioned to eat large boilies, pellets and particles of 20 millimetres and over. That’s as easy as falling off a log. France has become an extremely popular destination for the carp angler, especially with so many different carp lakes in France choose from and many that have carp in excess of 40lb to 50lb plus.

Better quality hooks are needed, and this means more expense, and don’t forget, more than one line means more than one reel of line, hooks etc. One of the most common anglers’ catches is the carp, a freshwater fish of the family Cyprinidae, counting in America with many devoted enthusiasts. However, carp will always feed in places where they feel safe, and if anglers are catching carp regularly from a certain place, then the carp will eventually associate the area with danger rendering that hotspot useless.

I find this a great way to fish but always respect other anglers and do not stalk where their bait lies. Carp were shipped by rail to markets during many decades serving as an important food source for the growing population, and prestigious restaurants, like the Waldorf and Astoria, popularized dishes such as “Carp in Rhine Wine Sauce”.

Eliminating Bedchairs is a big step forward. Sometimes it is easier to catch carp on a single or half a bait, but there are also those times when a combination of baits on the rig is more productive.

Well the problem with worms or any other wiggly meat baits is not that the carp won?t be attracted to it (by God, a worm must be the royalty of meals in every fishes? menu) but that other, faster, more aggressive fish will see and grab it first.
